Association Laboratory to Present at 2013 MSAE Conference on Membership Trends
Chicago, Illinois, August 19, 2013 – Dean West, President of Association Laboratory will present the implications of 5 mega trends identified in the Association Laboratory white paper Looking Forward 2013, an association industry environmental scanning project at the Michigan Society of Association Executives conference in Lansing, MI. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, September 10.
The presentation titled Redesigning Membership Strategy: Implications of Mega Trends summarizes the key points from Association Laboratory’s recent white paper Looking Forward 2013. Looking Forward 2013 incorporates commentary from 28 association chief staff officers and 26 senior association executives representing 55 different industries and professions. It identifies the five Mega Forces association executives identified as having the greatest impact on association strategy. Mr. West will then facilitate a discussion of the issues identified. The presentation will focus on how members make decisions differently and how this decision making will impact membership strategy.
Dean West is a nationally recognized expert in association research and strategy. His is a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives. He authored the chapter on Membership Research for the ASAE book, Membership Essentials and the chapter on Marketing Professional Development Programs in the ASAE book, Core Competencies in Professional Development. Mr. West is Past Chairman of ASAE’s Professional Development Council and has served on the ASAE Membership Council and the Board of Directors for the Association Forum of Chicagoland.
